2013 - Report - CONNECT! European Moldflow User Meeting 2013

CONNECT! Be In Sight! - Consistently high number of participants

The CONNECT! 2013 enjoyed a consistently high number of participants this year: about 140 participants from 14 different countries attended the 4th CONNECT! Moldflow European User Meeting.

After the opening by Thomas Wittmann from the organizer MF SOFTWARE, and a short welcome by Erwin Burth from Autodesk, Dr. Andreas Wonisch (BASF) opened the presentation series.

The participants could follow thematically varied presentations of Moldflow users from industry and research and talks about new features in Autodesk 2014 release ASMI such as Compression and Injection Compression Molding Simulation (3D), Bi-injection Molding Simulation and Conformal Cooling.

In addition to the new features Autodesk also informed about the possibilities for computing in the cloud with Autodesk Moldflow Sim 360 and current development issues such as viscoelasticity, wall slip, calculation of ejection forces and tool fatigue.

Training sessions in which new features could be tested and Roundtable groups completed the professional program whilst the pauses have been used to experience exchange and individual discussions.

The evening program entitled "Casino Royal" rounded off the event. Accompanied by lively piano music, the participants could finish the first day at Roulette, Craps or Blackjack.

Apart from the fun the evening also served a good purpose. Chips could be obtained for donations to the association with cancer and chronically ill children in Darmstadt (www.krebskranke-kinder-darmstadt.de).
We appreciate a donation of € 2.050 which will be passed to the association.

On behalf of children with cancer thanks for the generous donations!
